Most consumers must rely on the

the information provided to you, the consumer, comes from the somewhat biased
opinion of the individual representative. While larger companies and mega
corporations spend millions of dollars on advertising their “brand name” for
your recognition, should the consumer place their trust solely on the
familiarity of the name itself?
While it is true that these
companies have won public confidence through providing excellent service, it is
however the representatives of these companies that you will work closely with
during this investment process. Words like honesty, integrity, security and
knowledge are dispensed like popcorn and candy to gain your confidence and
respect throughout the entire transaction. But the truth is, corporate profit
margins and overhead costs are minimal and have forced companies to affiliate
themselves with related services companies such as Title and Escrow just to
remain competitive. Discount Brokerages have also been on the rise in several
markets and do not always offer a complete range of services when buying and/or
selling. Bundled services can be a win/win for the company, but not always for
the consumer, even though these offers are packaged and presented as provided
savings. This may cause the “sometimes vulnerable” consumer with their lack of
complete knowledge and resources to make uninformed decisions.
In an effort and concern to cover
the demands and governing laws that have been placed on the Real Estate
industry over the last 10 years, the desire and need for educational standards
to be raised for licensing Real Estate Agents has been expressed tremendously.
As years continue forward, we hopefully will witness Brokerages demand a far
greater degree of education to keep the Industry progressive and up to date
with the latest changes in law and standards of practice.
